What boats do you sail in?

The VNSC has two major classes of boats:

  • The Laser - This is a fast single handed dinghy and one of the most popular small boats in the world. It is an Olympic class and has class associations all over the world. That means that you can sail a Laser anywhere in the world. The Laser comes with three sizes of sails: the smallest sail is the 4.7, fit for persons below 50 kg.The middle sail is the Radial sail, suitable for people between 50 and 75 kgs, above that you will sail the Standard sail.
  • Optimist - this is one of the most popular dinghies for kids in the world. Optimist are sailed by kids from 7 years  up to 15, although bigger kids tends to shift to the Laser 4.7 when they reach the 50 kg mark before they are 16.
  • Windsurfing boards - we do have windsurfing boards in shapes and types, with different sizes of sails.
